St. John’s offers many opportunities to address the priorities that speak to your heart at gift levels that are right for you. A gift to the Fund for St. John’s is the best way to have an immediate impact on every component of the Program, but you can also direct your gift to four special funds that support scholarships, the care of our campuses, and the needs of our tutors and graduate students. Gifts to all five funds go to work right away, collectively shaping every facet of a St. John’s education. Learn more about these options.
With a commitment of $50,000, you can also establish your own scholarship, which will bear your name or the name of a loved one.
To permanently shape the future of St. John’s, consider establishing a new endowment with a minimum gift of $50,000. An endowed gift can support almost any aspect of the St. John’s experience you can imagine, and we will be happy to walk you through the process of creating something extraordinary.
The St. John’s Endowment is a collection of nearly 500 individual funds that have been established over the years by alumni and friends of St. John’s College. Contributions to these funds are not spent but are instead invested, with the goal of generating a permanent—and growing—stream of annual investment income. This income currently covers more than 20 percent of the cost to run the college, allowing St. John’s to operate without returning to the days of extremely high tuition.
Making a future gift through your estate is easier than it might seem. The process can be as simple as naming St. John’s as the beneficiary of an asset, such as a retirement account, or adding a few sentences to your will. Please visit our for more information.
Although gifts to the Annual Fund support important campus improvement and maintenance projects that enhance community life, they do not fund major renovations. For these projects, the college relies on the generosity of donors who seek to build community in a special way. More information on these opportunities, including the ten-year Pritzker Challenge, can be found on our campus improvements page.
Please visit to make a tribute gift. Once you enter the gift amount, select “The Fund for St. John’s” or another fund and click “add donation.” At that point you will be asked for more details, including information about the person you wish to remember.
Please reach out to us by phone at 505-984-6109 and we will be happy to assist. You can also email us at development(at)sjc.edu to let us know that a change is needed, and we will get back to you quickly for details.
Each employer approaches employee giving differently. The first step is to ask your Human Resources office about the appropriate forms or process. If your company’s policies require St. John’s to fill out a portion of the matching gift form, please email us at development(at)sjc.edu so we can guide you through that step.
Through the $25 million Pritzker Challenge, the Jay Pritzker Foundation has generously agreed to match every $2 in support of campus improvements with another $1, ultimately allowing St. John’s to invest $75 million in our two campuses.
