Information regarding academic year breaks with specific information for on-campus residents related to residence and dining hall closures.

Information for the 2024–25 Academic Year

Monday, August 19

On-campus student move in

  • 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m. First-year students
  • 1–4 p.m. Sophomores, juniors, seniors

Thursday, October 3–Monday October 7

Long weekend–residence halls & dining hall remain open

  • 9:30 p.m. Thursday–4 p.m. Monday

Tuesday, November 26–Monday, December 2

Thanksgiving break–residence halls remain open; dining hall closed

  • Wednesday, November 27, Friday, November 29, Saturday, November 30
    • Students may purchase lunch & dinner in the coffee shop. Note: Coffee shop meals must be purchased separately–they are not part of the meal plan.
    • All students who remain on campus will be invited to Thanksgiving dinner at the President’s house on Thursday, November 28.
  • Sunday, December 1
    • Coffee shop is open for lunch–dining hall reopens for dinner

Thursday, December 12–Monday, January 6

Winter Break

  • Residence halls close at 12 p.m. Saturday, December 14, and reopen at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 4.
  • Students may remain in their residence halls over break for a fee of $150/week. Reservations and payments are weekly; there is no adjustment to the fee for partial weeks. More information and a registration form will be sent to students in November.
  • The dining hall and coffee shop will be closed so please be informed that students who remain on campus will need to provide their own meals.

Thursday, January 30–Monday February 3

Long weekend–residence halls & dining hall remain open

  • 9:30 p.m. Thursday–4 p.m. Monday

Thursday, February 27–Monday, March 17

Spring Break

  • Residence halls close at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 1, and reopen at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 15.
  • Students may remain in their residence halls over break for a fee of $150/week. Reservations and payments are weekly; there is no adjustment to the fee for partial weeks. More information and a registration form will be sent to students in January.
  • The dining hall and coffee shop will be closed so please be informed that students who remain on campus will need to provide their own meals.

Friday, May 10

  • Dining hall services end with dinner.

Sunday, May 12

  • Students must vacate the residence halls by 12 p.m.
