Psychology and the Critical Revolution

Psychology and the Critical Revolution

Anton G. Hardy
Role: Author

The author points to the fragmentation of present-day psychology and its inability to make significant progress in such important areas of human functioning as perceiving, thinking, creativity, and consciousness. He asserts that this lack of progress is due to the scientism the discipline has adopted, which in turn stems from its philosophical assumptions. He shows how changing these assumptions through the application of Ernst Cassirer’s neo-Kantian paradigm can lead the discipline to the attainment of a more significant knowledge.
